Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrated at SDSV Roorkee
On Monday, 26th August 2024, Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. The primary objective of the celebration was to educate the children about the significance of Shri Krishna Janmashtami and the various names of Lord Krishna along with their meanings. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the school principal, staff members, and students.
The students, dressed as Little Krishnas, Radhas, and Gopikas, transformed the celebration area into a mini Brindavan. The festivities included dance performances, a fancy dress competition, and the traditional dahi-handi event.
Following these activities, the staff and students participated in an aarti and bhajan session dedicated to Lord Krishna, filling the atmosphere with devotion and spirituality.
Principal Mr. Girish Uniyal addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of planning and strategy in achieving success. He drew parallels to the Mahabharata, explaining how the Pandavas were able to defeat the Kauravas because of Lord Krishna's guidance and strategic planning. He urged the students to adopt similar approaches in their lives to achieve their goals.
The program was a vibrant, joyful, and informative event, fostering a sense of unity and joy among the students.
