Children's Day Celebration 2024
Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya, Roorkee celebrated Children's Day on 14th November 2024 with great festive spirit, commemorating the 135th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the Principal, Mr. G C Uniyal, along with the Admin Head, Mr. Rohit Bijalwan, and Maintenance Head, Mr. Pradeep Dabral. This was followed by an insightful speech by Activity Coordinator, Mr. Ratan Roy, who spoke about Pandit Nehru as a great leader, thinker, visionary, and true statesman.
As India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Nehru was known for his deep affection for children, and this sentiment was clearly reflected in the day’s celebrations. Teachers captivated the audience by performing a mesmerizing cultural show, wholeheartedly dedicated to the children. Through a heartfelt speech, tributes were paid to Pandit Nehru, honoring his relentless efforts to raise awareness about the rights, care, and education of children.
The cultural program featured a variety of interesting and lively events, meticulously planned to entertain and engage the audience. In his address, Principal Mr. GC Uniyal encouraged students to dream big and work hard, while also appreciating the teachers for their lively performances. Comparing children to beautiful blossoms, he motivated them to spread their fragrance everywhere and reminded them of the remarkable sacrifices made by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, urging them to look up to him as an ideal in all their pursuits.
